I can’t wait to get
home! At one time or
another we have all
said that. It happens
when we have had
enough of the world.
Even though we enjoy
our work or the vacation
we just finished or the
business trip we just
took, it’s good to start
thinking of home. It is
refreshing. We think
about the place where
the blessings of God
can be so apparent.
Our home is our
sanctuary and it is
intended to be our safe
place.
At home, my feelings can begin to mend or my feet can escape those shoes and I become a more relaxed me. I can take a deep breath and enjoy petting the dog that is so glad to see me. The defensive driving that helped get me home is part of a world I can leave outside until morning. I have a new defense I am home! This place that Joanna and I have made is a safe and comfortable place for anyone who might be invited in. It is a place we constantly ask God to bless and He has.
But home can be full of inconsistencies. It is sad when the purpose of the home has been damaged. When all you can see is a place where the bills are or the bully lives. It is sad when things are out of focus and your residence seems to just be an intrusive extension of the outside world. At those times, when you know your shield from the world is failing, you can feel as homeless as a person on the street. In talking with those who have had their shield shattered there is always the hope that their sanctuary will somehow be restored. Surprised and hurt that this precious possession has been snatched, they look for advice or any help offered to bring things back to normal.
I’ve mentioned a few normal things I cherish about our sweet home and I’m sure you have your own list. Each quality is fragile and depends on God’s blessing to maintain it. We should do everything possible to remember that. We should also do everything possible to protect what God has established. If you are unaware of the dangers to the family today you need to get out a little more or listen more often. We have a responsibility to protect what we prize.
I am looking toward a new home! Because of what God has established for us here I look ahead to His promised permanent home. As much as I enjoy what God has given me here I know it is barely a shadow of the future. There will be nothing fragile about our new home and the overwhelming joy we sense when all is well at home will never waver. In the presence of God as you might expect there is permanent beauty, protection, peace, and stability. Never a cross word uttered or heard. It is called heaven but we will call it home. Jesus made that promise. You probably have your own favorite verses on the subject but here are a few you should look up. You know it will be worth the effort. I’ll hope to see you at home!
John 14:1-11;
Revelation 21:3-7;
Revelation 21:22-27;
Revelation 22:1 – 5;
Revelation 22:16,17;

Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have!
Someone has said that, if Christians really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. In W.W. II there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace.
There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. If you would like to participate: Every evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time. Stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our President, his Cabinet and Military Commanders, our troops, our citizens, for the safety and protection from our enemies (terrorists) and for peace in the world. If you know anyone else who would like to participate, please pass this along. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.
| Each month we list our broadcasters that have birthdays that month. We encourage you to remember these friends and their ministry with special prayer on that day. | August 28 Scott Terry WCIF, Announcer P.O. Box 366 Melbourne, FL 32902 |
