    From the Manager

    Lee Martinez

Col 3:16a Let the message of Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives . . . .

God has given us a mouth to express our hearts. The Bible reminds us to keep our hearts protected because we eventually show what we are really like by what we say. I admit that I still need work to find the full peace and stability that Jesus can bring to life in a person who will follow Him. I know I have plenty of company in my brothers and sisters of faith. God in His wisdom has given us a way to focus on what we would want to be and how we would like to express hope in the Lord. He has given us voices and included a way for us to express our joy in unison. He allows us to sing His praises!

    Psalm 59:16,17
But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. O my strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love.

If you really think about it music is or should be an integral part of your day to day life. It helps you stay focused in spite of bone jarring experiences. It helps you convey joy that would be hard to communicate any other way. As you sing to the Lord you encourage others to look for His grace and mercy. There are songs to carry you through the valley or to shout from the mountain top, all bringing praise to God. Who could forget the victory articulated in,” It is Well With My Soul”? I’m sure your heart is still stirred by hearing or singing, “He’s Alive”! In between the mountain and the valley where we live most of the time are the steady songs of faith that keep our compasses
pointed in the right direction. This is music that is worth the time it takes to sing it.

    Psalm 89:1,2
I will sing of the LORD’s unfailing love forever! Young and old will hear of your faithfulness. Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens.

That is why WCIF features believer’s music in all segments of our 24 hour broadcast.
We know as we share the songs we are in the company of a great crowd listening and singing the same thoughts to honor our Lord and share each others joy and courage.

During the month of August we want to make sure we include some of your favorite songs. It would be like having a homecoming on the air. When you fill in the form telling us of your three favorite songs we will be playing as many as we can throughout
the day. At the end of the week we will select one persons name, play their favorites in a row and send them a gift packet for participating. Since those on your list will show up on other lists as well this is a way to spread the blessings from one to another. At the end of the month we will draw one name from all those who have participated and they will receive a special set of gifts.

We really want each person to take time this month to focus on what we play and use music and the words to encourage them and bring praise to our Lord who shows us His unfailing love all the time.

    3 Ways to Participate:

    1. Fill out the form in our August Newsletter and send it back to us in the envelope in your newsletter.

    2. On line – log on to wcif.com – you’ll see a “Favorite Song” icon available starting August 1.
