    From the Manager

Wheels for the WorldGod is on the move — REJOICE

It’s a funny thing about God’s call in your life. You think you have it all figured out and become comfortable with where He is using your gifts and suddenly He refines the focus and redefines the direction of that call. Scott and Michelle Terry are going through just such a “predicament”. Scott has been with WCIF for 7 years and has been blessing our audience and growing into what he has now become, a fine program host, a concerned Bible teacher and loving family man. Most of you have watched him grow and cheered him on. We want you to continue to rejoice as Scott and Michelle have answered a call into full time student ministry. God will also be using Scott’s desire that people hear the Good News as He links him with an enthusiastic soul-winning pastor, Donnie Legg. Though we are all a bit shocked we can see God’s hand in preparing Scott for the responsibilities ahead. Keep praying for Scott and Michelle as they are anticipating the birth of their second daughter before answering the call to FBC Aurantia. There is a lot on their plate.

ScottScott says, “We prayed and prayed and prayed some more to make sure this is what God wants and we are convinced. The prayers that you have given my family and I will never be forgotten. Thank you for your love and patience. Continue to pray for us as we embark on a new mission for God”.

    God fills the vacuum –

Just a surely as God has called Scott to another ministry He has been careful to see that WCIF’s audience is well taken care of by calling Tom Sellers to carry us forward. Tom has a love for the Lord and our listeners as those of you who tune in Sunday mornings can confirm. He is a learning Christian and admits that his Lord is still amazing him. Tom has a nice way of sharing his amazement and love for the Lord. Pray for him as he and Scott work together for awhile as he learns the ropes.

    Tom

Tom and his wife Darlene have been going through some soul searching times themselves and now realize it was God’s way of getting them ready for this move. Tom states— My prayer is that God’s light will shine through this ministry so that all who hear will glorify Him. Matthew 5:14 – 16 is my desire. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Pray for two adventurous families as they anticipate changes in their lives. Changes they are making for the glory of the Lord. This month Scott and Tom will both be in the studio together as Tom gets comfortable and Scott releases the reins.

    Wheels for the World

Wheels for the WorldJan. 29 - Feb. 7

For the 4th year WCIF is joining with Joni and Friends’ Wheels for the World as we collect wheelchairs, all metal walkers, crutches and metal canes. Wheels for the World aims to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the disabled around the world by providing wheelchairs and sharing the love of Jesus Christ. They also do this by connecting the disabled with the church through creating disability awareness and by educating and training the local churches in disability ministry. As a result many have placed their trust in Christ, and are experiencing new life and purpose with their new mobility.

People of Wheels for the World

How it all works: Locally wheelchairs, all metal walkers, metal crutches and metal canes are collected. After these items are picked up by Joni and Friends they are sent to a correctional facility where they are restored by carefully trained inmates. The wheelchairs are then shipped overseas where distribution and evangelism teams custom fit each wheelchair for each recipient and train him or her in wheelchair use and upkeep. Each recipient also receives a Bible and the message of God’s love from a team member. Speaking and teaching teams equip the local churches and communities in disability ministry, and construction teams build accessibility for the disabled, modify homes, churches, and clinics, as well as meeting other construction needs.

Wheels for the World RecipientsHow you can help:

Even if you only have one hour you can help! In the last three years through the WCIF collection nearly 400 items were collected for Wheels for the World. You can help reach more people this year with the Good News of Jesus through Wheels for the World. To volunteer or contribute equipment contact Martha at WCIF 725-9243.
