    Operation Christmas ChildOPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
National Collection week is November 13-20.

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief organization. Gift filled shoe boxes are collected and delivered in the name of Jesus Christ to children living in desperate situations around the world. In 2005 7,644,881 shoe boxes were collected internationally. 4,523,720 were collected in the United States.

    From the Manager:

    Lee Martinez

I heard something in a local restaurant that was encouraging and exciting. I heard the beautiful praise song “How Great Thou Art”! That’s right, in the background music was a country singer’s rendition of a praise song to God. And even as the song says it brightened my soul. I started thinking how strange it was to hear that classic song and how sad it was that it seemed strange. I was also sad that those around me could ignore the soft background sounds or just be ignorant of what they were hearing.

What God seemed to say to me through this was, “think about home and how wonderful it is when family is together even now”. It is great to have a place where God’s praises can be sung. It is a place where you can sing at the top of your lungs if you want to. But it is also good to be with a group of people who understand what you are singing and why. There will come a day when anything but praise sounds will be nonexistent. Right now we need to make room but some day every room will be filled with His glory and praises.

I thank God for my church family and the extended family I have as a result of ministering through WCIF. I thank God for you. We are family and because we are related through Jesus Christ we have the possibility of helping each other grow and become more successful. When we challenge each other it is with the view of making tomorrow better than today. Of applying God’s insights to our lives for better results. We can lift each other out of weak and sickly life styles. We have permission to give personal help because we are related.

At WCIF we think of you as family. We can almost hear you singing along with us as a favorite song causes us to sing. We seem to hear your amen as one of our programmers makes a point from scripture that strikes home and changes our thinking. We all benefit from family radio and just think there are friends and neighbors out there who still need to join the family, they still need to come in and be a part. We are here for you and them. Pray that God will use your voice to tell them where they can hear His voice. Thank God for WCIF.

Psalm 103:1-5 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

    Operation Christmas Child

    Operation Christmas Child

About Operation Christmas Child AMAZING FACTS

    • It is the world’s largest Christmas project.

    • If all 46 million children who have received shoe boxes since 1993 stood hand-in-hand, they would form a line stretching 31,816 miles—more than enough to reach all the way around the world.

    Around the World

    • Every U.S. president since Ronald Reagan has packed a shoe box gift for Operation Christmas Child.

    • An estimated 470,588 rolls of wrapping paper will be used this year to wrap more than 8 million shoe boxes.

    • In the summer of 2005, more than a quarter million children devastated by the Indian Ocean tsunami received an early Christmas when shoe box gifts of hope were handdelivered to them.

    • Operation Christmas Child will use whatever means necessary—truck, boat, plane, helicopter, donkey, dog sled, even camel—to bring shoe boxes to children in more than 90 countries.

    • This year, Operation Christmas Child will hand-deliver more than 8 million shoe box gifts to hurting kids worldwide.

Collection Dates are November 13 – 20, but because of travel time many places will only be receiving boxes through November 19!

For more information you can access the Samaritan’s Purse Website

How to pack your shoebox gift:

    1. Find an empty shoe
      box. You can wrap it
      if you like (lid
      separately), but
      wrapping is not
      required.
    2. Fill the box with a
      variety of nonbreakable,
      nonperishable
      gifts, like
      toys, school supplies,
      hygiene items and
      hard candy for a boy
      or girl, age 2 – 4, 5 –
      8 , or 10 – 14.
    3. Include a hand
      written note or
      encouragement and
      photo (optional)
    4. A $7 contribution will
      help this box get to
      the right child.
      Checks should be
      made to Samaritan’s
      Purse. (helpful but
      required)
    5. Drop off your box at a
      local drop off site.

    WCIF Equipment Update

    Thankyou!

Since WCIF moved to a new site and increased our power about five years ago our potential listening audience has grown and we have benefited by the increase. Being on a higher tower is popular with everyone who has a signal to transmit. This has created a problem that we as well as others need to deal with. We need to isolate our signal better for our own good and the benefit of everyone else on the site. What that means is that we have just incurred an added expense that could break our budget! We rely on listener support and are very frugal in our operation. We know how much your gifts means to you and ultimately to us so we watch our spending and plan as effectively as we can. The total cost of the filter equipment is $21,000. We are asking you if you would consider a little extra gift to the station at this time. When we all do something, big things can be accomplished and this is one of those times we need to see that happen. Just a reminder this has to be above regular monthly giving to be effective and save our budget. Thank you for praying about this and seeking an answer. - Lee J. Martinez

    Happy Thanksgiving ...
    We are thankful for you!

I’m very thankful for my beautiful wife because she loves God more than anything in the world and is such a great mother. I’m also thankful for Aleyah who is shy to pray, but does it. She says “Wow” when she sees Christmas trees, and gives head butts for kisses. The Lord has truly blessed me! Scott

I am most thankful for two of the best parents anyone could hope for, Brad and Althea Lethbridge. I am also thankful to be a part of the ministry team at WCIF, putting forth the gospel message in music and teaching. Cliff

    Growing up Thanksgiving was
always a big time with lots of family
and a bountiful table. We always
    decorated with a cornucopia
    plentifully filled with good vegetables
    and fruits. I’m grateful for
the wonderful memories of a loving
    family and God’s cornucopia of
blessings that fill my life. Grace,
    mercy, faithfulness and the Victory
we have as God’s children are just a
    few of those blessings. Martha

I am very thankful for my church family at First Baptist, Melbourne, they have been a real encouragement for me. I am also thankful for the opportunity to work at WCIF with very caring people. Sheri

I have been thinking about family
and how necessary each member of
my family has become in my life. I
am grateful that my daughters are
so much like Joanna. They are wise
and gracious and make me feel
special and I wish the world were
full of ladies just like them. That
would be a good thing. I am
thankful for my son-in-laws with the
    love, confidence and protection that
    they bring. Their sincerity and
wisdom help set them apart from the
    outside world. My grandsons are
the most charming and loving you
could find (I have pictures and
stories to prove it if you have time).
    My mother-in-law has been a
sharing caring person since I first
met her. And in spite of the miles
and years apart my Mother still
makes me feel special each time we
talk. God bless you all I am thankful
and privileged because of you. Lee

    Thank you Letters

Melbourne – Just a note to say “Thanks” to God. It’s a long story-but after 20 years blind in one eye (due to cancer) he can see. Praise God. I like the night music again; it has been a couple of months since I last listened.

Melbourne – God’s love and blessings on you all who brighten our lives every day with songs and teachings. Thank you and God bless.

Palm Bay – We love all that you do to reach out and change lives!

Melbourne – Dear radio friends and Brethren in Christ, May God richly bless your ministry as you reach out to the lost and helpless.

Gilbert, SC – Really miss listening to WCIF and miss all of you. Keep up the good work. May God bless all of you.

Sebastian – Please accept our contribution towards your wonderful ministry. We listen all the time, and are so encouraged and strengthened by all your terrific announcers, programs, and beautiful music. Truly you are all blessed by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Thank you all so much!

Atwater, Ohio – Just visited Florida for a week and found your station to still be faithful. It’s just like coming to see an old friend. Keep up the good work.

Cape Canaveral – You have a lot of radio competition both secular and Christian. Some radio stations put a lot of focus and energy into their morning shows. But today I was blessed with the simple easy one man show with Scott. He was talking about family and life in a simple way, and reminding me of how God has given us much through life’s simple pleasures. It was very touching and meaningful. Thanks.

Palm Bay – Brothers and sisters, greetings in Jesus’ name. Here is my pledge to WCIF God bless you all.

Merritt Island – Enclosed check is a small token of our appreciation of you wonderful Christian radio station. Thanks!

Roseland – Enclosed is my check toward my pledge. I have your station on all the time. Thank you so much for the programs this past week.
