    Habitat for Humanity Care-A-thon 2006

    It is interesting how God can take our desire to help and by laying that same desire on the hearts of others He can make something unique happen. It has happened in the history of WCIF and continues to the point that we wait to see what He will do next with us and through us. When He brings just the right people together, gives them a plan things get done. WCIF is proud to be part of His plan and our partnership with other ministries that help our audience reach beyond themselves.

    Once again in October of this year we will set aside one day to help our community of churches build a house for a needy family. On October 5 we will partner with Habitat for Humanity and link them with our listeners for a 12-hour fundraiser. From 7 am – 7 pm you will have an opportunity to reach out to help. This will be the 6th year we have helped. That means 4 families are in their homes because our listeners got behind the effort and made it happen.

    Clergy Appreciation

    As we look ahead it is time to plan something special for your church staffs. October is Clergy Appreciation month and very little gets done if we wait till the last minute. Probably everyone including you needs more encouragement and recognition for their consistency and desire to accomplish good things. So why should our church staff draw the attention?
    Well first because we need to start somewhere and get the ball rolling and what better place to start than with the people who are so concerned with our well being? Secondly whatever the size of your church and it’s leadership here is the one place established to bless you and focus your attention on your loving Lord. As with anyone the more they sense they are appreciated the easier it is to do the job even when it gets
    challenging. You may have a specific time in mind when someone on your church staff was there for you or blessed you by simply doing what they do best. Anyway it is time to get together with other members and do some advance planning. Try to include more than the pastor. Focus on support staff and their wives as well. When we care for each other we move ahead and meet the future’s challenges.

    Col 3:14;

    -And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
